This question really comes down to philosophy. Traditionally, Chiropractors believed that bones would “go out of place” and reek havoc on the nervous system until they were “put back in” by a chiropractic adjustment. This logic hasn’t stood the test of time in research. The mechanism behind its effectiveness is thought to be more related to neural modulation (calming down the nervous system) and circulating synovial fluid in the joint among other mechanisms. Regardless in how you choose to describe the what’s occurring, it’s an effective treatment option for low back pain, neck pain, hip pain and a stiff upper back!
